If you’re like the millions of other people out there, you’ve not doubt heard about Shawn T’s Hip Hop Abs.  The question that seems to be on most peoples minds though, is does it work?

I have 4 kids, ages 8, 7, 3, and 2.  No doubt my life is busy.  :) I started out at 130 lbs pre-children (5′ 7″- I was perfectly healthy and fit.)  With each pregnancy, I got up to between 180-187 lbs.  Of course I breastfed which helped me lose a lot of weight, but I never completely lost the baby fat.  Here’s some pictures of me after my fourth child:

So here’s my story…

When my 4th child turned one, I was weighing in at about 140 lbs.  (As you can see above).  The weight was mostly in my hips, buns and thighs.  My stomach wasn’t too bad, but it was definitely flabby from having 4 kids stretch the crap out of out. My husband had just left for a business trip to Tennessee for 2 weeks, and I was stuck at home with the kids.

I was just about over everything in my life- but mostly I was over being 27 years old, with 4 kids, and a body that showed it.  I was sick and tired of people saying, “Oh, you look good for having 4 kids”.  What I wanted them to say was “Wow, you look good.”

I had bought Hip Hop Abs about 4 months prior to this, and I had only done it a handful of times.  This time, I was on a mission - my husband was out of town, and I had 2 weeks to get my butt in gear.  (We had a vacation planned to the Bahama’s just a week after he got back, so I had some definite motivation.)

I set a schedule:

  • Drop the older 2 kids off at school
  • Put the baby down for a nap (the toddler worked out with me sometimes - other times he just sat on the couch and watched me.)
  • I got myself a huge bottle of water ready to go
  • I worked my butt off (literally).

I didn’t do the main Hip Hop Abs cardio workout, and I didn’t do it the way it is supposed to be alternated between workouts.  What I did was the Hips Buns and Thighs workout.  It’s only 20 minutes long, so this was a huge deciding factor for me (if you buy Hip Hop Abs, you’ll get a bunch of different DVD workouts).  I didn’t have much time to work out (and really who does), and I honestly didn’t WANT to work out any longer than that.

After I worked the Hips Buns and Thighs DVD, I filled my water bottle up again.  I made sure to fill it up 4 times every day. (I know that helped speed up the process of losing the baby fat for me.)

For 2 weeks straight, I followed this schedule.  I took a break on the weekends, but some days I would work out in the evening too.  So I guess in retrospect I worked out everyday.

When my husband returned from his business trip, the look on his face was priceless.  (Of course I didn’t let it show that I knew he had noticed. :))

We went to the Bahamas, had a great time.  When we got back, I continued working out, only this time I only did the program 3 times a week.  I ended up weighing in at 120 lbs 2 months after I began Hip Hop AbsThat’s 20 lbs in 2 months I lost the right and healthy way.

I haven’t done Hip Hop Abs in over a year. The pictures below were just recently taken (for the sole purpose of this review).  I have not worked out at all since LAST December (over a year ago).  I most certainly should be working out, but my point is, even though the below pictures are not my immediate results, they  are BETTER than the above pictures, and they’re from doing Hip Hop Abs a year ago! Imagine what I looked like when we went to the Bahamas.) :)

Does Hip Hop Abs Really Work?

Absolutely - I swear by it.  I have told everyone I know who wants to lose weight they should get Hip Hop Abs.  I saw results in 2 weeks - and I continued to see results. You may or may  not have had as quick of a success as I did, but you WILL see a difference if you stick to it.
